We recently got a new roof from Century–light colored asphalt shingles, ridge line venting, and solar cells. During the recent hot days, we have been delighted by how much cooler our house has been. We live in relatively cool Oakland so have no air conditioning. We expect the roofing difference would be even more appreciated in warmer parts of the greater Bay Area.
