We were very pleased with a roof repair they did in 2004. So in the Fall of 2019 we got two bids for a new roof and Century's bid was clear, detailed and came in under the other one. We also had them replace our roof insulation. Their crew was professional and respectful of our property. At the end of the day, the crew always cleaned up.

We recently got a new roof from Century--light colored asphalt shingles, ridge line venting, and solar cells. During the recent hot days, we have been delighted by how much cooler our house has been. We live in relatively cool Oakland so have no air conditioning. We expect the roofing difference would be even more appreciated in warmer parts of the greater Bay Area.
We had both roof work and solar done by Century Roof and Solar, and my experience with them could not have been better. I've recommended them to everyone.
Let me get the few negatives out of the way: Century Roof and Solar are not cheap but you really get what you pay for, and updates leading up to the start day was could have been clearer.
And that's it. Beyond that, the work was impeccable and the workers were diligent and sensitive to the fact that we have small kids running around the house. They accommodated any special requests we made, like tarping up when it got overcast, or being careful near the nanny's car.
Before the solar work began, Tony gave us a very detailed and technical breakdown of the equipment to be installed, expected ROI, etc. and walked us thru the process. The installation was quick, clean, and beautiful looking! His estimates have been dead on so far and we're getting great solar performance our first full month under PGE's NME usage plan.
I also want to make special mention that Tony is just a great guy. Friendly and passionate about solar, incredibly knowledgeable about the whole industry, and best of all, generous with his time and knowledge. There is a reason that people who know anything about solar or construction use him too. I felt like we were developing a professional relationship, not just contracting some house work. This is how ALL contracting should work, he sets the bar.
Needed roof repair on my sunroom and on an addition. Century Roofing gave me a higher estimate but I had more confidence with the owner, Tony. Tony was very professional and he was very knowledgeable with roofing repair, which included dry rot. His crew of six came early and got the job done in two and a half days which included removing and repairing the dry rot, tearing out the old material, removing old chalking, installing base boards, and installing and sealing water proof rubber mats. Job well done and I strongly recommend Century Roofing.
